BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Battle Creek City Commission is looking for an at-large commissioner to serve until the November election.
Vice Mayor Kaytee Faris resigned from the commission last Tuesday, effective immediately, because her family is moving out of state.
The Battle Creek City Charter requires the commission to appoint someone to fill her seat in the next 30 days.
The commission will accept letters of interest until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, and they will interview candidates publicly, during the Tuesday, July 5 City Commission meeting.
To be eligible to serve on the Battle Creek City Commission, you must be a registered voter in the City of Battle Creek. An at-large commissioner represents the entire city, so can live anywhere within Battle Creek city limits.
A letter of interest can be emailed it to publicinput@battlecreekmi.gov, dropped off in person (8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday) or mailed it to:
Battle Creek City Hall
