KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan State Police are confirming that at least one person has died as a result of a crash that happened early Monday morning, May 30, in Oshtemo Township.
Oshtemo Fire and Rescue and Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 7 a.m. to 9th Street and closed off that section of the road from North Avenue to Stadium Drive around 7:15 a.m.
Multiple agencies including the Michigan State Police responded to the fatal accident that closed the road for nearly two hours.
The road was reopened was reopened around 9 a.m.
An earlier crash on the same day in Van Buren County caused M-43 north of Paw Paw to be closed for several hours.
Authorities say it happened around 3:30 a.m. when a vehicle drove off the road and crashed into a power pole, knocking it over.
The road reopened around 5:15 a.m. according to Van Buren County Dispatch.
No injuries were reported and drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a cause of the crash.
