AUGUSTA, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Fort Custer National Cemetery Advisory Committee says the Annual Memorial Day Event will return to the National Cemetery Grounds on Sunday, May 29, at 2:00 p.m.
The May 29 program will include patriotic music by the Cereal City Concert Band, Kalamazoo Area Pipers, a flyover by the renowned Hooligans Flight Team, guest speaker, Lieutenant Commander T. R. Shaw, Jr., USN (Retired), the Laying of Wreaths to our fallen heroes and other events.
Plumeria Botanical Boutique is partnering with the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation and the Fort Custer Advisory Board to hand out Roses to visitors and veterans at the event as well as well as placing them at gravesites.
On Saturday, May 28, volunteers will place over 23,000 flags on veteran graves. Those wishing to help should arrive at the cemetery by 8:00 a.m.
