KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Another milestone has been reached in the construction of Kalamazoo County’s new Downtown Justice Complex with the “Topping Off” of the building’s steel skeleton Thursday.
A number of dignitaries from the courts, the county and City of Kalamazoo were on hand to put their signatures on the big white beam that will be placed at the very top of the frame, leaving a mark that will be there as long as the building lasts.
Construction fell just a little behind schedule last month because of all the rain, but so far they have avoided the supply-chain issues that have slowed construction elsewhere.

The plan is to wrap up construction at about this time next year.
