KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Four juveniles suspected of stealing two vehicles and three guns in Kalamazoo appeared in court on Tuesday, April 26, and are facing felony charges.
According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, the four suspects are also repeat offenders.
KDPS officers located the first stolen vehicle around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, near the intersection of Howard Street and West Michigan Ave.
After a short pursuit, four occupants fled from the vehicle on foot, but were caught a short time later with the assistance of a police K9.
The second stolen vehicle was located and recovered along with the three firearms.
“These kids are doing these things and it may seem fun and exciting to them but it’s extremely dangerous,” said KDPS Deputy Chief Dave Boysen in an interview with WWMT, Newschannel 3.
“They’re driving in stolen cars, when we try to pull them over they flee at high rates of speed and that really puts entire community at risk.”
