KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Plainwell man will face trial on several charges of embezzlement from a vulnerable adult.
39 year old Craig Macauley waived his rights to a preliminary exam Wednesday, which means his case will now head to Kalamazoo County Circuit Court.
Macauley is charged with seven counts of embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, $1,000 to $20,000.
He is suspected of taking over 45,000 dollars from an elderly woman, via an illegal transfer of ownership of her truck, maxing out of her credit cards, and overdrawing her bank account.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel made the announcement Wednesday, and said, “We will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute crimes committed against seniors and other vulnerable adults in our state.”
No additional court dates were announced.
