BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — It was back to in person learning for students at Battle Creek’s Lakeview Middle School on Monday, March 21. This after a COVID-19 outbreak sent kids home last week.
According to the state, there were 76 new COVID-19 cases in schools last week, with 28 of them coming from Lakeview Middle School.
Interim Superintendent Cindy Green said that the middle school was virtual Wednesday through Friday last week, and said, “It’s a part of life, we do need to be flexible. They’re learning and keeping that focus on learning.”
Green said the school had extra emergency days and will not have to make up any days for COVID-19 outbreaks.
