KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two suspects are in custody after leading Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police on both a car and foot chase.
Authorities say that police attempted to stop the suspect vehicle around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 25, near Bridge Street and Riverview Avenue. The vehicle was believed to be one from a casing incident the day before on Thursday, February 24.
The suspects fled the scene and then crashed into a utility pole near Scudder Court on Parsons Street. The three occupants then fled on foot but were taken into custody after a brief chase, with two going to jail on various offenses. The third suspect, who was a juvenile, was released to a parent.
One of the occupants had a stolen loaded handgun from Three Rivers. Police also found evidence connected to mail theft and property crimes from around the Kalamazoo area.
On adult suspect was arrested for fleeing and eluding and possession of a stolen vehicle. He is being held at Kalamazoo County Jail.
