ALLEGAN MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A decision by the Allegan County Board of Commissioners will result in vastly reduced services regarding COVID by the County Health Department.
Services such as vaccine clinics, free testing, maintenance of a dashboard providing data on the pandemic, and others, will be reduced or halted due to the funding decision.
Health department officials say that they will ask the state Health and Human Services Department and other entities to assist in continuing the services, but nothing is certain.
The request to use funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) money the county received was made to commissioners last month, but defeated on a 4-3 vote.
