KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 54-year-old woman from Battle Creek was killed this morning, after her vehicle was struck head-on by another vehicle that crossed the centerline in slippery road conditions.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened shortly before 9:00 a.m. Friday in the 15000 block of Dickman Road (M-96) in Ross Township. When officers arrived on scene it was determined that a 29-year-old male from Kalamazoo, was traveling westbound on Dickman Road when he lost control of his vehicle due to the icy roads. After losing control, his vehicle crossed the centerline and hit an eastbound vehicle head-on. The woman in the eastbound vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the westbound vehicle suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment from EMS at the accident scene. Police say alcohol and/or drugs where not a factor in this accident.
