LONDON UK (WKZO AM/FM) – A leading auto industry expert says that the announcement by General Motors that it will expand its presence in electric vehicle and battery production has potential, but there are obstacles and much work to be done.
Mike Wall, an analyst with the firm IHS Markit, said that convincing consumers to purchase the vehicles is the biggest issue, and that current supply chain problems will also prove to be a stumbling block.
Wall did indicate that the future seems bright for electric vehicles, and that their sales numbers will increase beyond projections in the next few years.
