KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Synchronized Skating is not an Olympic sport yet, but it could be someday, and hundreds of the best teams in the nation are in Kalamazoo this week.
More than 4,000 competitors from all over the Midwest and western U.S. will be in town for the three day event, which starts Wednesday at Wings Event Center.
“These are the best synchronized figure skaters in the United States, the winners of this competition will go on to the top international competition,” Jane Ghosh with Discover Kalamazoo said in a statement.
The public is invited to attend the event series, but restrictions apply.
“Spectators are allowed with a negative PCR test within 72 hours of entry,” Ghosh said.
Tickets are $30 dollars a day or $80 for all three days.
