LANSING, MI — Gun violence in Lansing has become a main focus of the city’s elected officials but the New Year has started off badly. Lansing Police continue to search for suspects in the shooting death of a 19-year-old on Monday afternoon in the city.
Officers responded to a report of gunshots just before 5:00 p.m. at a residence near the intersection of North Pennsylvania Avenue and M-43 Highway in Lansing. Upon arrival police found a 19-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities say the teenager was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police said they don’t believe the shooting was a random incident.
