Washington Football Team defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis became the club’s 11th player on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.
Ten of the players are on the defensive side of the ball as Washington (6-7) prepares for an NFC East game Sunday against the host Philadelphia Eagles (6-7).
Ioannidis, 27, joins fellow defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Tim Settle; defensive ends Montez Sweat, James Smith-Williams, Casey Toohill and Wiliam Bradley King (practice squad); linebackers Khaleke Hudson and David Mayo and cornerback Kendall Fuller. Practice squad tight end Temarrick Hemingway is also on the COVID list, per the report.
Ioannidis has 26 tackles, eight quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks in 12 games (three starts) this season. He has 23.5 sacks in 69 games (37 starts) since Washington drafted him in the fifth round in 2016.
