LANSING, MI — The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association will be returning money to insured drivers in the state in the spring of 2022.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer this fall requested approximately five-billion dollars be returned to policy holders after Michigan’s insurance laws were overhauled and now the MCCA has complied with the request. The group says it will return a portion of the surplus money.
State officials say the refunds will amount to 400-dollars per insured vehicle. The money is due to be released in March 2022 with checks for insurance policy holders arrving later that month.
