KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Monday, the Kalamazoo Astronomical Society (KAS) announced that its five-part lecture series geared toward people new to the hobby of amateur astronomy will return on January 15.
The series will again be offered online via the video conferencing service Zoom.
Admission is free, but those interested are asked to register online at this link.
Registrants will be provided with the Zoom webinar link, along with comprehensive notes for each installment of the series.
Participants that attend all five parts will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Dates and topics for the lecture series are as follows:
- January 15 – Our Place Among the Infinities – 1 – 3 p.m.
- January 29 – Discovering the Night Sky – 1 – 3 p.m.
- February 12 – Binocular Basics – 1 – 3 p.m.
- February 26 Telescope Tutorial – 1 – 3 p.m.
- March 12 – The Art of Astrophotography – 1 – 3 p.m.
The previous installment of the series, held earlier this year, had approximately 900 registrants from all over the world.
About 225 of them earned a Certificate of Completion by attending all five parts.
