KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been issued for Kalamazoo residents in the Virginia Avenue area, the City of Kalamazoo announced Monday.
City officials are currently repairing water infrastructure on Virginia Avenue.
The work will result in a temporary loss of pressure and the advisory has been issued for water intended for drinking or ingestion.
The advisory concerns the following areas:
- Virginia Avenue – From Chandler Avenue (southern boundary) to Park Avenue (northern boundary), both sides of the roadway. Does not include the southwest corner of Park Avenue and Virginia.
- Park Avenue – Only includes 1701 Park Avenue.
- Espanola Avenue – Only includes 543 and 544 Espanola.
- Spanish Road – From the Kalamazoo City Limits (western boundary) to Virginia Avenue (eastern boundary), both sides of the roadway.
This advisory is precautionary only, and is expected to be lifted within three days (December 2).
Customers in the affected area are advised to use bottled water or boil tap water for two minutes before consuming out of an abundance of caution.
