GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Tuesday, the Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan (BBB) announced the selection of Lisa Frohnapfel as the next President and CEO.
Frohnapfel will replace Phil Catlett, who is retiring at the end of the year after leading the organization for 10 years.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to help uphold the integrity and trust within our diverse Western Michigan Marketplace,” Frohnapfel said in a statement.
A native of Michigan, Frohnapfel has lived most of her life in Western Michigan. She resides in the Kalamazoo area.
Frohnapfel comes from the financial service industry, where she has experience in sales, communication, and community involvement with a focus on servant leadership.
She has held a number of senior leadership positions in her career, including CEO of a local credit union.
“I look forward to utilizing my background, expertise, and insight to grow the brand of the BBB and strengthen relationships,” Frohnapfel said. “Together, we can help connect consumers with reputable businesses while guarding against scams and fraud.”
Officials with the BBB say they conducted a nation-wide search and selected Frohnapfel from a strong pool of candidates.
“Lisa brings to the BBB 25 years of leadership experience including time as the Chief Executive Officer of a multi-branch credit union located in West Michigan,” BBB Board of Directors chair Mark Tomasick said in a statement. “Lisa’s professional background combined with her passion for serving the community and businesses, both big and small, make her a natural fit to lead the BBB into the future.”
In her free time, Frohnapfel enjoys spending time outdoors and enjoying all that Michigan has to offer, including hiking, kayaking, fishing and art, in addition to her time volunteering, and enjoying time with her three children and other family.
“I plan to continue to build on the great history and work of the BBB, while supporting and elevating purpose driven businesses,” Frohnapfel said. “With our community’s long-standing pride in the BBB mission, we will inspire high standards of character ethics amongst business and partner organizations in all 38 counties we serve.”
Lisa Frohnapfel will join the BBB on November 16.
