UPDATE: KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Dept. of Public Safety authorities say that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a 19 year after being struck by a car Wednesday night, and have also released the name of the victim.
19 year old Bailey Broderick was struck while crossing Fraternity Village Dr., and later died of her injuries.
A 19 year old man is pending arraignment on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s office now has the case.
KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo police say a young woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking near the campus of Western Michigan University Wednesday evening. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fraternity Village Dr. near West Michigan Ave. around 8:30.
The 19-year-old was hit by a car while crossing the street. She was taken to an area hospital and later died from her injuries.
Her name has not been released and the accident remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call KDPS or Silent Observer.
