BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Battle Creek Police Department (BCPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred in the early hours of November 1.
According to the department, two officers were coming from the Washington Heights neighborhood at 4:17 a.m. when they heard several gunshots.
Officers observed a male walking down the street in the area. The man was uncooperative, causing the police to detain him.
The officers discovered the man had a handgun and two gunshot wounds.
The man was transported for medical treatment for his gunshot wounds and is in stable condition, but police say he remains uncooperative.
Police also said they found shell casings around the West Manchester Street and Jordan Street area, which is believed to be the scene of the crime.
The case remains under investigation at this time.
