HASTINGS MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan State Police are reporting that an MSP Fugitive team was involved in a shooting incident Wednesday morning in Barry County that resulted in the death of a suspect.
Authorities report that the team was tracking a man wanted in a felonious assault case, and found him in a vehicle with a woman in the 9200 block of Lindsay Rd in Orangeville Township near Prairieville in the western part of the county at around 10 am.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the man showed an edged weapon, at which time he was shot and killed.
The woman was uninjured, according to 1st Lt. Chuck Christensen with MSP.
The name of the suspect has not been released.
