EAST LANSING, MI — Two former Michigan State University basketball players are among 18 former NBA players charged with defrauding the NBA’s health-benefit plan.
Former MSU stars Alan Anderson and Shannon Brown – along with several others with Michigan ties – have been are accused of roughly 740-thousand dollars of fraud for fake claims for chiropractic services. In all, federal prosecutors say the group defrauded millions of dollars from the NBA health plan.
In addition, former Detroit Piston Will Bynum and Detroit Cass Tech and Detroit Northwestern’s Chris Douglas-Roberts were among the former NBA players charged in the fraud.
