SPRINGFIELD, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says one of two suspects in the assault and armed robbery of a 71-year-old man in Springfield late Sunday afternoon is in custody.
Deputies responded to the robbery at 5:17 p.m. on Sunday.
They learned the suspects were a 33-year-old man and 48-year-old woman from Battle Creek.
A search warrant was conducted in the 100 block of Summer Street in the City of Battle Creek where the property that was stolen was recovered.
The male is lodged at the Calhoun County jail and a warrant is being sought for home invasion and armed robbery.
Charges for the female are being reviewed by the Calhoun County Prosecutor.
