The mash-up event, called “Cheetah Choktoberfest de Zoo, UnCorked,” will take place over one day, Saturday October 2, in two parts.
Starting at 9 a.m., residents will have the opportunity to participate in the Cheetah Chase 5K. Participants can choose to run or walk through the zoo on a course that includes kangaroos, the dinosaurs of Zoorassic Park, giraffes and the namesake cheetahs.
Officials say prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each age category.
However, each participant will receive a 2021 Cheetah Chase performance race shirt and post-race refreshments, including their first Bell’s beer free (for ages 21 and up).
Participants will also receive same-day admission to the zoo, all of which is included in the $50 race fee.
Those interested in joining the race can sign up at this link.
Following that event, a festival event will begin at noon and last until 6:00 p.m. Over forty guest vendors will be pouring samples of craft beer, wine, cider, mead, seltzer and coffee.
