SCHOOLCRAFT MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An area Little League that provides an opportunity for children with disabilities to play the national pastime opened up its season Saturday at a brand new field.
The Southwest Michigan Miracle League began play at their new facilities off of 131 near Schoolcraft.
The field is specially designed to aid those involved, with a completely flat surface that is rubberized and cushioned.
The dugouts are completely accessible to wheelchairs, and each player has a buddy to help them bat and get around the bases.
The field also sports a concession stand, bathrooms, extra parking.
Construction on the field was started in October of last year.
