EMMETT TWP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A two-vehicle crash in Calhoun County killed a Battle Creek woman and injured an infant on Friday, September 17.
Police say it happened at the intersection of Main Street and Columbia Avenue in Emmett Township when the two vehicles involved collided with each other around 2:30 p.m.
Emmett Township Department of Public Safety Officers discovered a female driver and infant boy from Battle Creek in one vehicle and a 25-year-old male driver, also of Battle Creek standing outside the other vehicle when they arrived.
Officers began treating the victims in the first vehicle when they discovered that the woman had died.
The other male driver was not injured and was taken into custody as police suspected him of driving under the influence.
The infant was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital and was reported in stable condition.
