GRAND RAPIDS MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Tuesday morning saw the dawn of a nice, sunny day…but forecasters advise area residents to keep their guard up, as unsettled weather could be on the horizon.
Atmospheric conditions and a frontal boundary could combine to bring strong to possibly severe weather to a large portion of the Lower Peninsula.
There is some positive news with the system. It will be moving fast enough to not pose a major flood threat, and the possibility of tornadic activity is slight.
Heavy rain and straight-line winds are expected with the storms, with some anticipated to reach the shore of Lake Michigan by 2 pm, and the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area around 4 am.
