PAW PAW MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A former police officer in Hartford is headed to court and faces charges stemming from an incident in August of last year.
31-year-old Matthew Mistretta faces two counts, assault and battery and misconduct in office by a public official.
A video from a traffic stop Mistretta made indicated that he threw a man to the ground after handcuffing him, and then kneeled on the man’s neck.
A passenger in the stopped vehicle said that the man on the ground said he couldn’t breathe.
Mistretta’s next court appearance is set for September 20th.
