DETROIT, MI (WKZO-AM/FM) – The Tigers were quiet at the Trade Deadline. In their only deal completed, reliever Daniel Norris was sent to the Brewers in exchange for prospect Reese Olson.
Norris, who came to Motown as part of the David Price trade in 2015, had a 1-3 record and 5.89 ERA in 38 games this season. Olson, now the Tigers’ number 13 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, will be assigned to Detroit’s High-A affiliate West Michigan but could be promoted to Double-A Erie shortly.
Among the more notable deals made at the Trade Deadline:
- The Dodgers obtained pitcher Max Scherzer and shortstop Trea Turner from the Nationals in exchange for four prospects.
- The Cubs were big sellers, dealing Craig Kimbrel to the crosstown White Sox, Kris Bryant to the Giants, Javier Baez and Trevor Williams to the Mets, and Anthony Rizzo to the Yankees.
