DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers may not make any moves before this afternoon’s trade deadline. Infielder Jonathan Schoop and reliever Jose Cisnero could be potential trade targets.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are finalizing a trade to acquire pitcher Max Scherzer and shortstop Trea Turner. ESPN reports the Dodgers will send the Washington Nationals four prospects in the blockbuster deal. Those include: pitcher Josiah Gray, catcher Keibert Ruiz, pitcher Gerardo Carrillo and outfielder Donovan Casey.
Gray and Ruiz are considered the top prospects in Los Angeles’ farm system. Both Scherzer and Turner were named All-Stars this season.
The New York Yankees have acquired first baseman Anthony Rizzo from the Chicago Cubs. Rizzo was an integral part of helping the Cubs win the World Series in 2016.
In return the Yankees are sending the Cubs minor league pitcher Alexander Vizcaino and outfielder Kevin Alcantara.
