KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo (ACGK) announced Monday that it is looking to fill a variety of roles within the organization.
Applications are currently being accepted for the newly created positions of Marketing Director, Development Director, Community Box Office Manager, Social Media Specialist, Membership Specialist, and Bookkeeper.
The ACGK is also hiring Theatre Technicians for the Jolliffe Theatre.
The organization provided WKZO with the following details about each position:
Marketing Director –
- The ideal Marketing Director candidate will have proven marketing skills, great insight into the promotional needs of the arts, and the ability to develop and execute marketing plans with a small team of staff and contractors on a challenging schedule.
Development Director –
- The Development Director is responsible for the fund development activities of the organization through grants, sponsorships, and contributions. This position also oversees the regranting programs of the Arts Council, providing the management of the various programs and the mentorship and education of members.
Community Box Office Manager –

Operating through the ACGK for the Tessitura Consortium in Kalamazoo, the Community Box Office Manager is responsible for the ensuring the success of the Community Box Office Project and the utilization of a single database to provide the best customer service experiences for consortium donors, patrons, clients, and staff.
Social Media Specialist –
- Supervised by the Marketing Director, the Social Media Specialist will develop and post content on the ACGK social media channels and ensure an active, engaged, and positive presence on all social media platforms.
Membership Specialist –
- The Membership Specialist will focus on membership engagement, providing ACGK members and prospective members with the accurate information on the services and benefits provided by the Art Council, as well as provide feedback to the ACGK team from current and prospective members.
Bookkeeper –
- The Bookkeeper should be a money-minded individual and will report to the Finance Director. The position is responsible for ACGK receivables and payables as well as reconciliation of accounts and assisting in the administration of payroll and employee benefits.
Theatre Technicians –
- The ACGK is seeking various theatre technicians to staff rentals in the Jolliffe Theatre in the Epic Center in downtown Kalamazoo. Rentals include meetings, rehearsals, performances, lectures, and special events. Roles range from House Manager, Stage Manager, Stage Technicians, Light Board/Video Operator, and Sound Board Operator.
The Marketing Director, Development Director, and Community Box Office Manager roles are full-time, salaried positions that require at least 40 hours a week including occasional evenings and weekends.
The Social Media Specialist, Membership Specialist, and Bookkeeper positions are on a part-time, hourly pay basis. Theatre Technicians are hired on a per-project, contracted basis.
