ANAHEIM, CA (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers managed to avoid a four-game sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels as Daz Cameron hit a go-ahead two run single in the top of the tenth of Detroit’s 5-3 in Anaheim.
Miguel Cabrera knocked in two runs for Detroit. Jose Cisnero earned his first win and Michael Fulmer secured his sixth save, striking out three. The Tigers snapped a three-game losing skid.
Shohei Ohtani homered for his fourth time in three days for the Angels, tying the MLB-lead with his 23rd blast of the year. Jared Walsh and Max Stassi each tallied three hits for Los Angeles. Raisel Iglesias was charged with his third loss.
The victory is the 600th in the career for Tigers’ manager AJ Hinch.
Detroit will enjoy a day off before the start of a two-game set with the St. Louis Cardinals tomorrow night.
