ANAHEIM, CA (WKZO AM/FM) – Taylor Ward hit a grand slam as the California Angels took down the Detroit Tigers 7-5 in Anaheim last night.
Shohei Ohtani gave up just one run over six innings to pick up the win for the Angels. Raisel Iglesias added the save for Los Angeles, which snapped a three-game slide.
The Tigers were down 7-1 before making a failed ninth inning rally attempt. Jonathan Schoop homered for Detroit, which had a three-game win streak snapped.
Matt Manning gave up two runs over five innings in his MLB debut.
Tonight, Jose Urena is set to go to the hill for the Tigers while the Angels counter with Alex Cobb. The opening pitch is scheduled for 9:38 p.m. EDT.
