LANSING, MI — Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is responding to widespread criticism that appointments at branch offices are too hard to secure. Some state residents have had to wait months and months to get appointments to handle SOS matters.
Benson on Tuesday announced the addition of 350-thousand appointments between now and September 30th. Half of them will be available to make now, and half are going to be set up online as next-day appointments.
Benson also called on lawmakers to pass legislation using 25-million federal COVID-19 relief dollars to add staff and hours to branch offices. Benson again reiterated the SOS will not return to same day walk up service.
