LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It’s an effort to reignite the travel and tourism industry hard hit by the COVID 19 outbreak.
Pure Michigan is holding what agency official Otie McKinley is calling a “special live event” on Monday evening (June 7, 2021).
“We’re going to (provide) a great opportunity to hear from industry leaders from across the state about the upcoming travel season – activities, events and festivals,” he said on “WHTC Morning News” during the weekly “Travel Michigan” segment last Friday. “We hope people can tune in to reignite that excitement for summer travel.”
Industry officials are hoping that strong travel trends during the Memorial Day weekend will continue throughout the summer as COVID 19 health restrictions are lifted nationwide.
The two-hour “Pure Michigan Live – A Return to Summer” presentation from Mackinac Island runs from 6 to 8 PM, and can be seen on the agency Facebook page, as well as through other venues.
