KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE: As of 9:40 p.m., both lanes have been reopened on South Westnedge Avenue at Parkwood Avenue.
No other information was made available, but WWMT reported Tuesday night that the cause of the closure was a shooting.
According to a witness who spoke with WWMT, the shooting involved two vehicles, one of which took shots at another while moving. A witness had also said that they saw one person put in an ambulance.

Tuesday evening, the Kalamazoo County Central Dispatch Authority announced that as of 7:25 p.m., South Westnedge Avenue is closed Northbound and Southbound at Parkwood Avenue due to an unspecified incident.
According to the announcement, motorists are asked to seek an alternate route.
At the time of this reporting, Kalamazoo police officers are said to be on scene and handling the situation.
