CENTREVILLE MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The St Joseph County Sheriff’s Dept. is continuing its investigation into an accident Monday afternoon that seriously injured a motorcyclist.
Authorities report that at around 4:30 pm, deputies were summoned to the intersection of Banker Street Rd. and Burgener Rd. in Florence Township.
Upon arrival, they found a 53 year old White Pigeon man suffering from major injuries.
According to deputies, the victim ran the stop sign at that intersection, and was struck by a Chevy Traverse driven by a 71 year old Sturgis man.
The victim was thrown into a ditch, while those riding in the Traverse were not injured.
Aircare transported the motorcyclist to a Kalamazoo hospital for treatment.
