LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan health officials are reporting 1,289 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. This brings the state-wide total to over 874,624.
From those numbers, 107 more deaths were reported from Saturday as well. Of these cases, 91 of them were identified during a vital records review.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, the United States has seen 32,913,784 cases and 585,571 deaths. Worldwide, 162,059,913 people have contracted the disease, and 3,361,016 have died.
As of Friday, May 14, a total of 755,119 people in Michigan had recovered from the virus. Health officials say that a patient is considered recovered when they are clear of the disease 30 days after initial onset.
