SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a teenage suspect believed to be involved in a shooting in Springfield.
Authorities were called to the first block of N. 11th St at around 11:45 last night and located a 26-year-old woman who had been shot in the leg. She was taken to a Battle Creek hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Investigators believe a 17-year-old Battle Creek male teen is the suspect, but they have not released his name. They believe the shooting was in retaliation for an assault that happened in Battle Creek earlier in the night.
