GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s been a long time since baseball fans have seen a home game for the West Michigan Whitecaps. But 622 days later, the team took to the field Tuesday evening in a home opener against the Great Lakes Loons.
The Whitecaps lost 9-1 in their first effort of the season. The six-game series continues at LMCU Ballpark Wednesday night at 6:35.
As the season continues, seating will be limited to 20% capacity. When combining seating in the suites, stands, and on the lawn, that amounts to space for about 2,000 fans. Masks will be required when fans aren’t in their seats.
