ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th, sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of 136th Ave and 41st Street in Overisel Township to a call for a single vehicle truck crash involving injuries.
Investigators believed the driver of the truck involved, was traveling westbound on 136th Avenue they failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The truck exited the roadway and came to a rest in a wooded area after striking a tree.
The passenger in the vehicle, a 24-year-old male from Zeeland, was airlifted to a Grand Rapids area hospital in critical condition.
The driver, a 43-year-old male, also from Zeeland, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
The names of both the driver and passenger are being withheld at this time.
