ALBION, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect on Sunday morning who they say was caught trying to steal a catalytic converter near Albion.
The Sheriff’s Office says one of their deputies saw a suspicious vehicle near the Park-N-Ride on C Drive North.
The deputy saw the suspect get under a vehicle at the Park-N-Ride and then approached him.
The Sheriff’s office says he caught him in the act of attempting to cut off the catalytic converter from the vehicle.
The 43-year-old man from Big Rapids was questioned and the Sheriff’s Office says he confessed to attempting to steal the catalytic converter. They add it’s believed this suspect has been working the I-94 and I-69 corridor.
