LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Prescription drug prices have been an issue not only in Michigan but across the country…and a state senator says the time has come for an oversight board to help control and possibly lower the cost of those drugs.
Sen. Winnie Brinks, a Democrat from Grand Rapids, says that the affordability of the drugs that people need is disappearing, and a panel that would govern the cost of said drugs is necessary to protect those who are adversely affected.
Brinks explained that, while the board wouldn’t completely solve the problem, it would be a step in the right direction.
She said that the state of Maryland has a similar board in place, and is seeing positive impact.
