VERONA TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man who is a suspect accused in several burglaries in Calhoun County was injured in an unrelated car accident Tuesday morning.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the two-vehicle crash on Verona Rd. in Marshall Township just before noon. Investigations showed the 37-year-old was driving westbound when he crossed the center line and sideswiped an SUV driven by a 20-year-old from Springfield who was headed eastbound.
The Battle Creek man’s vehicle ended up leaving the road and hitting a tree, leaving him seriously injured. The SUV rolled over twice on the roadway, but the driver was not injured. A postal worker, who was near the scene, was able to rescue the Battle Creek man from his vehicle.
