BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Michigan State Police troopers are requesting information about a woman who was seen walking near a reported arson that took place last Wednesday night, April 7, in Branch County.
Troopers say that about 8:30 p.m. that evening, the Bronson Fire Department along with State Police from the Marshall Post were dispatched to an unoccupied excavator that was on fire in the 200 block of Kosmerick and Clearwater Roads.
The excavator was parked in a nearby farm field when the fire took place.
After further investigation it has been determined the excavator was intently set on fire. Several witnesses observed a younger white female subject with brown hair who was about five-foot-six to five-foot-nine inches tall.
She was carrying a dark colored backpack near the area of the arson and was last seen walking west bound on Kosmerick Road towards South Snow Prairie Road at about the time the fire was reported.
