KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspect has been charged and arraigned in a shooting death that occurred in Oshtemo Township last week, according to a report from MLive Monday.
According to the report, the suspect is identified as Joriel Cruz, who is accused in the murder of 23-year-old Phillip Miller. Cruz is being held on charges of open murder and felony firearm.
Reports say Miller was found dead in the 5500 Block of Redcoat Lane in Oshtemo Township, which is inside the Colonial Manor mobile home park.
Police say the body was discovered on April 8, with a suspect taken into custody later that day.
MLive further reported that Cruz is currently being held without bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary examination on Tuesday, April 20.
This is only the latest report regarding a shooting in the Kalamazoo area. Another fatal shooting was reported Sunday, which resulted in one death.
