CASSAPOLIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car versus pedestrian accident that happened on Friday around 8 a.m.
The crash occurred on Dixon Street, east of Indian Lake Road in Silver Lake Township.
67-year-old Heriberto Perez of Dowagiac struck 68-year-old Patricia Amundsen, also of Dowagiac with his vehicle while she was standing on the shoulder of the road.
Initial investigation shows that Perez went slowly passed a stopped vehicle which was talking to Amundsen. When Perez began to pass, he did not see Amundsen and struck her with his driver’s side mirror.
Perez remained on scene along with the witness to the incident.
Amundsen was transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for injuries sustained in the crash.
