Michigan is among 16 states targeted to receive funds from USDA to improve rural community services.
The project was announced Tuesday. Included will be $156 million to support health-care-related improvements and emergency response services. Nearly one-million rural residents in nine states and Puerto Rico are expected to benefit. USDA’s undersecretary for rural development Justin Maxson says the funding is part of the effort to help rural America build back better and stronger.
The effort will go towards infrastructure like medical facilities, emergency response vehicles and equipment.
