PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Portage man was arrested in Paw Paw early Monday morning on drugs and weapons charges.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s office says a K-9 deputy was on patrol in the 400 block of Berrien Street at around 1:15 a.m. when he pulled over a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was requested to exit the vehicle as he was observed acting suspiciously.
He later was found to be in possession of a loaded pistol as well as multiple bags of meth. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two more pistols.
The 23-year-old was arrested and taken to the Van Buren County jail. His name has not been released.
