Battle Creek father charged in infant son’s shaking death headed to trial

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man charged with the death of his infant son is headed to trial in Calhoun County.

30-year-old Kyle Kregling of Battle Creek was convicted on all charges in the November 2020 death of 8-month-old Chris Kregling and faces life in prison without parole.

Police were called to a home in the 100 block of West Territorial Road on November 2nd where the baby was found unresponsive. He died two days later. In interviews with police, the father had admitted to violently shaking the baby.

Kregling remains in the county jail and is being held without bond.
